If you have any questions or concerns about what is needed by government in relation to your current infrastructure regarding traceability, FoodTRACE can come in and evaluate your internal traceability as well as discuss the FoodTRACE system for external traceability. There is a fee for this service dependent on the size and scope of your potential requirements in this area. FoodTRACE can examine your current infrastructure and system and provide written recommendations/suggestions for improvements that will enhance your capabilities to the highest level. FoodTRACE can work closer with the appropriate personnel in implementing any or all suggestions made in the evaluation. The bottom line is that there are legal requirements for traceability that you must be in compliance with now, most notably the Bio-Terrorism Act of 2002. The upcoming legislation in HR2749, The Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009 and in SB510, The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 will increase your requirements not only in traceability, but also in registration requirements as well as additional fees imposed in those laws.
